Flag of Romania, Romanian coat of arms and national anthem

The Romanian flag is composed of three equal vertical bands of blue, yellow and red. Flag of Romania

Romanian national emblem

Romania's coat of arms has as a golden eagle with cross in its center, which also used to appear in the arms of the Arges county, the town of Pitesti and the town of Curtea de Arges. It stands for the "nest of the Basarabs," a nucleus around which was organised Wallachia, the province that determined the historical fate of the whole Romania.

The Romanian national anthem is Andrei Muresan's poem "Un rasunet". It has been written and published during the 1848 Revolution. The poem became an anthem under the title "Desteapta-te romane" ("Awaken Thee, Romanian"). Its energetic and mobilising message has helped Romanian going through difficult times of their history.
