In full growth, the tertiary sector represented nearly 70 %
of the GDP in 2003.
Whereas in the middle of the years 1990, a Pole on two had
never had contact with a bank, the banking environment strongly
developed following its liberalization and the arrival of the
foreign investors. The fastest progress was made in the growth
of the number of commercial agencies and the diffusion of the
credit cards. Warsaw Stock Exchange became the principal money
market in the central and eastern european countries in terms
of volume of exchanges. The number of companies with dimensions
has triplet since 1998 and the stock exchange capitalization
was multiplied by four during the same time, to reach more then
100 billion PLN (25 billion EUR) during 2003.
The sector of the logistics and the distribution continues
its rationalization and its development. The large signs generalists
and specialized count from now for more than 30 % of the total
of the Poland distribution. The France and its companies also
benefit of the growth of the sector of health. The data processing
departments are in rise and technologies of information have
a good potential, not fully exploited because of the international
economic situation of the sector. In spite of a fall since the
beginning of the decade, Poland is still one of the fifteen
tourist destinations most visited in the world and its infrastructure
of hotels develops.
